"Instructor" Visa
"Instructor" visa is categorized in Tier II of Group I defined in Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act ("ICRRA", hereafter).
I. Granted Activities
activities of language education or other education at primary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, and other schools.
II. Granted Period of Stay
5 years, 3 years, 1 year or 3 months
III. Conditions to be Permitted
A. Applied activities are not false.
B. Applied activities coincide with activities defined for each visa in ICRRA.
It is also required to meet the followings, or so called " Criteria of Permits for Landing" as "Medical Care" is categorized in Tier II of Group I:
A. The applicant should correspond to each of the following, if the applicant is willing to be engaged in education at a miscellaneous school or a school same as a miscellaneous school in terms of facilities and organization, or if the applicant is willing to be engaged in education at a different educational institution:
If the applicant is willing to be engaged in education at a miscellaneous school or a school same as a miscellaneous school in terms of facilities and organization, which is established for a purpose of providing primary education or middle class education in foreign languages to students with visa status of "Diplomat", "Public Business" or "Dependent", the applicant should correspond to just a)
a) The applicant should correspond to one of the below:
1. The applicant graduated a college or had the education equal to or higher than the education of a college.
2. The applicant majored and completed the designated subjects by a notice of the minister of justice on skills or knowledge essential to the education to be instructed in a miscellaneous school.
3. The applicant has a license on the education to be instructed.
b) The applicant should receive the same wages as a Japanese can receive or more.

B. a documents which certifies the academic background or a copy of a license on education
C. a document which certifies the career
D. a document which certifies the contents, terms, the position, wages of the activities
V. Documents Required to Apply for Extension of Visa
A. a document which certifies the contents, terms and the position of the activities
B. a certificate of annual incomes and paid taxes
